Freehand, Stamping and YouTube

My journey in nail art started many many years ago...
in my teens where the best tool I could use was a toothpick
and try to make roses on my nails...
Everyone then thought am crazy... little did they know!

I always tried to improve my micro drawing skills since then
and even now, so many years later, still every day I aim to get better...
Because...There is always better!

YouTube is a big school for everyone either you are a professional nail artist or just a hobbyist...
So I came across the famous Robin Moses nail art videos

She is the ultimate guru of Nail Art if you ask me...
I have watched all her videos and still do,
old and new again and again...
with all her tips and tricks...
I absolutely adore and admire this woman!

So, I got lots of brushes, dotting tools, paints,
everything that could make my Nail Art easier...
and it really was so much easier to paint with acrylic paint
instead of  nail polish that I was doing all these years (old school).

Then in November 2012 lovely Arcadia Nail Art
 (we miss your tutorials girl)
had a Christmas competition on YouTube where I did participate...
so my Video tutorials started exactly then...
with my Winterland...

All hand painted blue shades of a snowing forest and birds on tree branches...
You can see the video in the link below....

My freehand designs can be called painting aficionado,
because I do like many different styles...
from Cubism to Abstract;
from Modern to Surrealism;
from Expressionism to Impressionism;
All are gorgeous styles, I tend to try, from time to time...

More competitions and challenges followed and more nail art!
Some of my very favorite are

Fifty Shades of Grey
A design I did for a group called Nail Art Minions.

Eye of the Tiger
Is still today my most popular nail art Tutorial.

Cats in Love watching the Dawn

Sky is the limit as they say and I was enjoying my freehand Nail Art,
but then something magical happened...
on YouTube I came across two amazing different artists...

Talented Rachel Black who does Mix Media

and lovely Swanette Swan who does Stamping Nail Art

The magic thought of trying to combine these two was so tempting...
and so I entered the world of Stamping Nail Art!

Vintage Love Letters
was my first, of many that followed, successful
attempt of combing Stamping Nail Art and Mix Media

Everybody loved my new style and design and this specific one
was the reason I started again doing Video Tutorials on YouTube...

You can see a recreation I made for a video tutorial in the link below....

The reason I had a big break on YouTube
was mainly cause I could not bare the hate and competitive attitude...

But Stamping Nail Art has a totally different community that welcome me with so much love.
I met amazing artists and made great friends all over the world that we share the same passion!
Too many to add them in this blog,
but I will surely make a blog for each of them because they inspire me every day!

I won many competitions since I stepped into the stamping nail art...
One of my biggest of which am very proud of is
Celebrate with Pueen Christmas Competition
that I won with this design

So many designs, combining my freehand skills with stamping
has surely rewarded my hard work every day!

Art is Art regardless the technique you use...
and Art is a beautiful way of expressing yourself!

I am for ever grateful to all that support me in this journey...
and help me keep going...

Thank you for your time reading my story...
There will lots of blogs to follow...
My love to you all always
